How to Create a Mirror Gallery Wall

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Much like a photo gallery wall, mirrors combine the coverage you are looking to apply but they can create dimensions in small to large spaces adding depth and of course, eye-catching reflections with natural to artificial lighting within the room.

Finding tons of ideas surrounding what mirrors to choose and how to stage them, I loved the antique hunter’s unique assortment they had acquired over time from flea markets, yard sales, and thrift shops.  Some designers painted the frames to all match. Others had an array of many styles, sizes, and shapes.

One thing for certain is measuring and layout plans before hanging are key!  Check out the  Pottery Barn Room Planner to map out your design.  Simply plug in your room dimensions, use icons that would resemble the dimensions of your chosen mirrors, then click and drag to create virtually the look you wish to create!

From there, the best bet is to “recreate” those specifics right on the floor so that you can visualize how the exact items will work together once they are hung.  If your staging passes the satisfied with yourself test – it is now time to hang!

Don’t forget that the way you laid these mirrors out, may not be the way they are designed to hang- and that’s okay!  What you should do is purchase a hanger wire and check the weight of these mirrors to apply anchors and screws above where you wish them to rest once hung.

Do the same when fixing your wire to the top of the mirror’s backing to ensure proper hanging height.  You need to keep in mind the distance between the hanging wire and the height of your mirror.  Place the mirror face down to measure then lift the wire from the center until there is no more give.  Then measure from the top of the mirror to the high point of the wire so you know exactly where you need to place your hook.

Start hanging from the center mirror working your way out from there. Hold it in its place to mark the top to the wall before hanging and watch the beauty come together, simple and easy from there!

Now, THIS art is something to make you pause and reflect for sure!
